How does it work?
A tiny probe is inserted just underneath the skin. Through this a laser beam targets and liquifies fat cells. These are then drained from the body using your natural lymphatic system. The procedure requires only a small incision which does not require any stitches, and which leaves no scarring.
What is SmartLipo with Aspiration (suction)?
SmartLipo with aspiration produces quicker results as the fat residue from the SmartLipo treatment is ‘sucked’ away immediately with an aspiration device.
Where will the surgery be performed?
The surgery will be performed in our clinic in Oxford Circus by our registered Surgeon.
How long will the surgery take?
On average – one hour.
What can I expect after the surgery?
A general better body contour and improved regularity of the skin on the area treated.
You will need to wear a support garment after surgery. The time depends on the area treated – 48 hours for facial area(s) and up to one week for body area(s). You will also need to take antibiotics for a week to prevent any form of infection. It is advisable to avoid strenuous sports, hot showers for 10 days, or intense massage for 4 – 5 weeks
When can I get back to work?
In most cases – the patient can go back to work the same day. However, because of the need to wear protection just after the surgery, some people prefer to wait 48 hours, the time to take off the bandages, before returning working.
Are there any side effects?
It is important to remember that SmartLipo is a minor surgey performed by a highly qualified Surgeon and that common side effects like temporary swelling and bruising are not unusual.
When can I see the final results?
The first results can be seen within 2 to 3 weeks. Then the final result will be effective between 8 to 12 weeks. With aspiration (suction) results can be seen immediately.
In some cases more than one procedure may be required in order to achieve the desired results.
